The Royal Canadian Mint is a commercial Crown corporation producing circulation, numismatic and bullion coins.
It also operates full-service gold and silver refineries which continuously support the production of precious metal collector coins and of its world-famous Gold and Silver Maple Leaf bullion coins.
From its facility in the Canadian capital of Ottawa, Ontario, the Mint produces numismatic coins of extraordinary beauty and impeccable craftsmanship. Made primarily of precious metals, several of the Mint’s numismatic coins are also enhanced with innovations such as holograms, selective plating, colouring, laser etching and embedded crystals.
The Mint also produces medals, medallions and tokens and most recently crafted the awe-inspiring athlete medals for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games.
